![]() ![]() There may be a safe way of doing that using symlinks, but it's up to them to do that if they haven't. They're trying to get you to switch back and forth so you can use the same data. Google Chrome doesn't mess with Firefox, and neither should these others. Under no circumstances should they be in a position to write or delete anything in the Firefox profile. They're separate programs, and should have separate user data. Mgagnonlv wrote:By default, Waterfox uses the same profile as Firefox. One added advantage: both Pale Moon and Firefox can run at the same time without problem, and without any round-about procedure. So there is no danger of inter-corruption. Anyway, it means that once Pale Moon is installed and configured, you will have two independent programs, each using their own profile. The developer also offers a utility to copy your Firefox profile to Pale Moon, and of course, you could manually copy your Firefox profile on top of your newly-created Pale Moon profile. On the other hand, Pale Moon is different. There is a discussion on the Cyberfox forum to eventually use a different profile for Cyberfox. It would be a bit the same with Cyberfox, albeit to a lesser extent, because the cyberfox developer is very quick on updates, so versions should be similar. Right now, Firefox is at version 25, going on 26, whereas Waterfox is at 24 and probably staying there for a few months (if past experience continues). In any case, I would certainly avoid moving back and forth between Firefox (32-bit) and Waterfox (64-bit), because you will be going through compatibility checking and maybe raise database compatibility issues each time you change from one browser to the other. I am not sure if, when you install it, you may select "advanced" options and create a new profile otherwise, make a copy of your Firefox profile just in case. ![]() By default, Waterfox uses the same profile as Firefox. ![]()
